Yoshiro,

how much can you take?

I. SUBJECT FILE

subject: Yoshiro Takai

cooperation rating: 4 / 10

intellect rating: 6 / 10

physical rating: 3 / 10

magic rating: 7 / 10

water response: yes

reported fear: Dying alone. Yoshiro knows he could collapse without warning, which makes the possibility feel less distant than it does for most. He has also developed a fear of heights that he has not fully acknowledged, while the sound of gunfire startles him more deeply than he admits.

ambition: To live. More than that, to discover something honest and worthwhile enough to live for—a purpose that makes the repeated use of his ability feel like more than another weight dragging him down.

trusted names: Hiro, Yugio, Gray

untrusted names: Zias, Avery, and Gray. Gray exists on both lists.

childhood record

Yoshiro's first true home consisted of himself and his grandmother in Japan. As a child, he was more expressive: a toothy-grinned boy who wandered wherever curiosity led him, looking at the world as though it had been made specifically to be explored.

His grandmother taught him kindness, compassion, and nearly everything warm he still carries. As he approached adolescence, his parents forced him to learn the opposite. They called it "harsh reality"—a lesson in becoming quieter, harder, and less trusting than the child his grandmother had raised.

fears

Yoshiro fears dying alone most of all. His body has already taught him that death does not always arrive with warning.

Heights have become a newer fear, though he has not fully recognised it yet. Gunshots provoke an immediate and disproportionate reaction, as if his body remembers the sound before his mind has time to place it.

secrets

The corruption magic never truly left him.

Yoshiro can feel it lingering inside his body, concentrated around the gaping rot over his heart. The wound is both proof and reminder. The Appraiser of the Fall continues to ensure he never forgets what remains inside him.

love record

Yoshiro's first love was an ice skater he met after his parents moved him to another part of the country. The skater's stubborn determination to befriend him eventually won him over, though they never properly became a couple.

He later loved Gray. Their relationship began and bloomed at Lasthelm, only to wither beneath the friction of truths they both kept hidden.

II. SYMBOL OMEN
Blue butterfly symbol

recorded symbol: blue butterflies.

The blue butterfly represents transformation, fragile survival, and a life that continues after it should have ended. Butterflies are also associated with the soul and the passage between life and death. For Yoshiro, the colour blue turns that transformation into something colder: healing that never quite becomes peace, and beauty formed around a wound that remains open.

III. NOTE

Yoshiro will dream that he is falling from a height with no ground beneath him. A gunshot sounds, and the sky fills with blue butterflies.

One enters the wound over his heart. The falling stops immediately.

A woman's voice then speaks from somewhere inside his chest: "You are not empty. Something has been living there."

When he wakes, the wound will ache more sharply than usual. A single blue butterfly will be resting beside him. Its wings will be clean, but its footprints will leave black marks across the surface beneath it.

By the time the corruption event begins, the magic inside Yoshiro will react to nearby corruption before he consciously senses it. He may hide this from everyone until the event starts.
