A Home For Every Child

The Children’s House welcomes orphaned, displaced, and unaccompanied young people in need of shelter, warm meals, and proper care. Our dormitories are supervised by trusted matrons, with lessons in letters, numbers, household crafts, and suitable trades provided throughout the week. Donations of blankets, preserved food, soap, firewood, and children’s clothing are gratefully accepted at the western gate. Those seeking placement for a child must bring any known family records, medical notes, or proof of village residence. No child should be left to face the road alone.

Shared sleeping quarters may be assigned during periods of limited capacity.

The Children’s House provides temporary and long-term placement for young people who have lost their families, been displaced by conflict, or arrived in the village without a guardian.

New arrivals receive clean clothing, meals, basic medical assessment, and a place within the supervised dormitories.

Lessons are provided throughout the week, with older residents offered training in suitable household crafts and village trades.

Families seeking information about a resident should speak to the western gate matron and provide proof of relation.

Warning to Every Household

Oswin Umbralich is not to be trusted.

Do not offer him shelter, work, food, prayer or sympathy.

His father carried corruption. Death followed his household. The son is no cleaner than the blood he came from.

If he returns, do not permit him to leave again.

Kill the sickness before it learns another name.

Oswin Umbralich is a blight pretending to be a son.

His father rotted from corruption and the boy is no cleaner. Look at what followed him: blood in the house, a dead sister, a dead mother and a field that would not grow afterward.

Do not be fooled by grief.

Some grief grows teeth.

Do not let him through your door. Do not let him sleep in your barn. Do not let him near your children.

Kill the sickness where it stands, before it learns your name.
