SUBJECT: CLEMENT

So: kids fucking suck.

Clement's entire life has been warped by the severe bullying he endured growing up. From elementary school all the way to high school (and even in university). It all started because he was smaller, weaker, a bit of a crybaby. It made him easy to ridicule and be picked on, and ironically the one to start the cycle was his own older brother, who hated how pathetic his brother was. When things got severe, he didn't egg it on, but he also never stopped it either-- even though he had the power to.

As soon as Clement cried instead of fighting back the first time he got name-called, it just became the habit for everyone. He was the easy punching bag for the kids of a small Vermont town who knew nothing better. It was one day during the early days of his bullying did he make a singular friend: a girl at the park. It was the first and only time his ability ever activated, when she dared him to cross the monkey bars. He gained the ability to jump and reach high enough, but instead hit his head and crashed hard.

His little sister watched it all unfold, and thought her brother could do anything with the power of friendship. But when she tried to use that as a defense to stop it, it only got worse-- no one believed her, and instead they found similarities with him and a certain cartoon pony. From that day on, he begged his sister to not try and help him, lest she be ridiculed too.

As he got older, kids only got more cruel. He found his items destroyed and stolen, comments written on his desk, hit "accidentally" until it was clearly no longer accidental. When he tried to talk back, it only got worse, so he learned to shut his mouth and cry about it instead. Too small and frail, he was too much of a coward to do anything to help himself. Soon, it was being shoved into lockers and left there for hours, boys faking love confessions to the obviously gay boy only to spit in his face later.

At times, when he failed to comply with a demand to do someone's homework or essay, he was dragged out to the back parking lot and beaten black and blue. And somehow, no one cared, every teacher turned a blind eye because how pathetic a man can't even fight back-- surely he'll develop a thicker skin eventually. But he never did, he instead just got better at limping back home afterwards.

Tricked and played with so many times, he became unable to trust anyone, blaming the world for all of his misfortunes both with friends and otherwise. Pessimistic, prickly, and an incredible lack of confidence in every word he says.

But, he had two solaces at home: his mother, and his little sister Daphne. They were always there to clean up his wounds and give him a hug on exceptionally rough days, but also encouraged to make him walk back to that school again even if it hurt. They only hoped one day things would change, even if they never did. But regardless, at least he had two lights in his life. His father, not so much-- not too impressed with his lack of masculinity-- or his brother, his father's mini-me, who always took his dad's side. He was told to "be a man" and "toughen up", and that crying was pathetic of him.

He still cries anyway, though.

loud noises, really tall people, gore, blood, horror movies, jumpscares, ghosts, monsters, roller coasters, lions, tigers, bears (oh my), guns, swords, fuck ANY weapons aimed at him... dude the list goes on. man gets startled a little and he needs a fainting couch.

but, one thing he's scared of is truly falling in love again-- he's attracted to so many men but would never make a move himself. he's too scared of being tricked again and played the fool and humiliated. he's stressed by all the men actually making moves on him because he's so paranoid that they're lying to him.

oh, and that he will seriously die alone without anyone but his mother and sister. he's accepted dying never made a single friend, but still hates the thought of it. is he THAT unlovable? what did he ever do to deserve this?

honestly? none.

he's said almost everything in his life. how he's been bullied, all his woes and complaints-- he's so pessimistic that his life naturally is told to others, so he has not much to hide. there's not much more to him other than being a pathetic victim.

even his crushes aren't secrets-- like they're SO obvious just by looking at him.

well, none of these are HUGE loves, not ones he daydreams about. but they're innocent flings towards attractive men that have shown him any kindness (and river bc it's fucking river dude) * are the more major crushes he has.

and he's fallen in love before too, to any man who managed to trick him into believing they loved him back-- so desperate for companionship. but, he got played and spat on every time. so, he tries not to think about those stupid school girl crushes.
