Easygoing, adaptable, and eager to be useful, Chen has spent much of his life becoming whatever the moment requires. He can be charismatic or elusive, flirtatious or friendly—whatever makes the people around him comfortable.

He is sociable and well-known, with enough acquaintances to make him seem impossible to pin down. Yet very few people are truly close to him. Chen lets others see the version of himself they need and quietly keeps the rest out of reach.

What makes that distance painful is that Chen genuinely cares. He does not leave people because they mean nothing to him. He leaves gently because he believes disappearing is kinder than becoming another person they can lose.

(He is not heartless. That is not how his mother raised him.)

His greatest fear is the finality of death—especially after his mother vanished when he was thirteen. Chen continues to hope that Lei Yihua is alive somewhere, and that hope shapes nearly everything he does.

He knows everyone, but nobody entirely knows him. Just who is he behind the clouds?

A BLESSING, OR A CURSE?

The Soryū family is bound to Qinglong, the Azure Dragon of myth. Chen is the current vessel of that bond, inheriting dragonlike traits and a role he did not choose.

His magic rating is 5 / 10; his physical and intellectual ratings are both 6 / 10. He is cooperative when he believes it will help someone, though that cooperation often hides how little he reveals about himself.
